The Anel Langstroth beehives are a stronger alternative to poly hives. Made from hard plastic with a polyurethane foam insulation around the sides giving you a better, stronger alternative to poly hives. The components are lightweight in comparison to traditional wooden boxes.

This is where Anel are ahead in the competition especially as they have a NFC tag build it that communicates with the Anel app. This helps keep track of what each hive is doing. I get the impression that the app is designed so that it can improve in the future making it more future proof. Some features appear to be work in progress which will be a good thing. There's one or two features that I personally would like to see in the app but this by no way means that a new Langstroth roof would be needed just updating the app as ideas occur. It is up to Anel to listen to ideas beekeepers come up with and just produce updates to the app for new and existing owners. It is imperative that any new features can be added to the existing app to keep original purchasers on side. The roof also has a built in surface feeder so you can top up a feeder with syrup without opening and disturbing the hive. Another useful point is that because it's a standard fit Langstroth product which means that you can mix and match so that it suits you. It doesn't tie you to their format unlike some manufacturers. For people with many existing hives this makes it an attractive product if they gradually move away from their existing equipment.
The business:
Gruff provides a superb service with a fast turn around which the beekeeping community has for many years has longed for. In the past many beekeeping companies have literally taken months to fulfill orders, something I wasn't used to coming from the IT sector. Gruff seems to have changed all that.
Bought 2 to replace wooden roof.
Really impressed and the price is great too.
Would recommend thinking of buy the full hive.
I ordered this on a Friday and was delivered the next day, I'm slowly going over to Langstroth hives and thought I would try one on my wooden hive , it fitted straight on and you won't be disappointed with the quality, will be ordering more including the feeder
