About Us - Gwenyn Gruffydd Welsh Honey & Beekeeping Supplies

Gwenyn Gruffydd was founded in 2010 when Gruffydd decided to follow his dream of keeping bees.  Gruffydd was kindly given a hive of bees by a friend farming local and it is from there the dream developed into a reality.

Gruffydd enrolled onto a beekeeping course in Carmarthenshire that year and the 1 hive in the back of his mum and dad's garden quickly multiplied into over 200 beehives, dotted around several locations across South Wales over 10 years later.

The 100% pure, minimally filtered, unpasteurised (raw) Welsh honey that we produce has won 2 stars in the Great Taste Awards in 2017 and 2018, 1 star in 2020 and again in 2021 and 2022 and 2023.

Our Welsh Honey and our family business has also won many other awards and been runner up.

 

Our main mission is to sell quality single origin honey. Our main and most popular honey is the Welsh wildflower honey.  We also have available during the year, depending on crop, Welsh Heather Honey (which is also a Great Taste winner)  Autumn Ivy Honey, Cut comb honey and other speciality single-origin honeys.  The honey is not pasteurised.  All of our honeys are single-origin and we do not blend our honey. We strive to sell honey of the highest quality on the market.

Angharad refines down the beeswax and turns them into beautiful sustainable Welsh beeswax Candled which are available here. We offer sustainable and plastic free gifts and hampers which are popular throughout the year.

Gruffydd offers beekeeping training during the summer here on our farm and we are now also a supplier of beekeeping supplies as well as honeybees.
